BOSTON, February 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- A-Bazouki Volume 1 on Un-Gyve Records features twelve original tracks by A-Bazouki, multi-instrumentalist (violin, mandolin, ukulele, piano) J. Nemrow and L. A. Nemrow (harmonica, vocals).

A-Bazouki was named by Christopher Ricks (Keats and Embarrassment, Beckett's Dying Words, Dylan's Visions of Sin) before he became Sir Christopher Ricks, in response to a running joke about the dictionary of the same name. In the last line of his sleeve notes to A-Bazouki Volume 1 he promises of A-Bazouki "nothing promised that is not performed." (Just for the record we never promised you a bazouki.) Multi-instrumentalist (violin, mandolin, ukulele, piano) and cartoonist (Jule's 'Toons) co-founder J. Nemrow could play the bazouki, though, if we had one. Co-founder L. A. Nemrow couldn't but would give it a shot for pay and does play the harmonica and sing (not at the same time) and is in the midst of writing The Probe (a novel) and a Bostonian & other poems; a contributor to Ricks' (with Leonard Michaels) The State of the Language, later edition, the essay "Dirty Words" was called a "tour de force" by The Economist. The two are also screenwriters/filmmakers collaboratively, and run The Un-Gyve Limited Group, the family business and day job, continuing a long history of industry, creativity, philanthropy, and larceny on all sides, Scardino and Nemrow, including their uncles bassist and guitarist Joe and Dom DiBona (Frank Sinatra) and saxophonist Frank Messina (Lena Horne, Billie Holiday, Claude Thornhill, Frank Sinatra); and harmonica player Larry Adler.
